Martin Margiela next to design for H&M?

It has been reported that Maison Martin Margiela will be the next designer brand to collaborate with the high street super power H&M.

Maison Martin Margiela are set to be the next collaborators with Swedish high street fashion chain, H&M, that's if the reports from WWD are true.

According to sources, H&M will be announcing the news soon, but they haven't commented on the initial reports of this new collaboration. If it is indeed true then Maison Martin Margiela will join the very impressive list of collaborators with H&M, including Lanvin, Versace and Marni; all of these collaborations have been extremely popular with shoppers all over the world, creating a fashion frenzy and a mad bid to get a piece of the pret-a-porter lines designed for H&M.

The brand, Maison Martin Margiela, was established by Belgium born designer Martin Margiela in 1988, after he had worked for Jean Paul Gaultier; he also later became the creative director of the Hermes womens line. The fashion house is famous for its cleft-toe boots and for leading the way in contemporary designs. In 2002, the house was bought out by diesel founder Renzo Russo and Martin Margiela eventually left as creative director in 2009. Since Margiela's departure the fashion house has never appointed another creative director and they now act, work and speak together without a designated spokesperson. After all of this the house still maintain Margiela's unique design characteristics and I hope this is brought to their collaboration with H&M if the rumours are indeed true.
