The Garrison SE1

The Sunday just gone my boyfriend, Josh, and I celebrated our 6th anniversary.
We didn't do much during the day but in the evening we had reservations at a gastropub in Bermondsey, South London. The pub in question, The Garrison, is a quaint pub in Bermondsey that specialises in gourmet British food and best of all on a Sunday it has a Cinema Session where they show a free film in the basement; think an intimate setting, comfy sofas, good company and free popcorn.
Josh and I had been meaning to go check this out for a while but we had never got round to doing so.
But we are glad that we finally did as we had an amazing evening and will definitely be returning in the near future
Check out my photo diary from the evening below ...

The Garrison, gastropub on Bermondsey Street, SE1

Sunday dinner menu.

I love anywhere that has bread as a starter and how cute is this table decoration?!

Main meals-Josh had duck in a blood orange sauce with leek gratin and potatoes dauphinoise.
I had slow roasted pork belly in a thyme sauce with cauliflower mash and potatoes dauphinoise.
The portion sizes were so big, and the food was tasty. I really do love pub food but this is the best I have ever had and such good value for money too!

The Cinema room downstairs (photo isn't great quality so sorry)

Some popcorn to go with the film. The film that was showing was Clerks.
This is one of Josh's favourite films so it was perfect timing with our anniversary.
The 90s themed sunday sessions will run until the end of the month; I'm looking forward to seeing the choice of films for the next month.

I am so glad that Josh and I finally went to The Garrison. This gastropub really has everything going for it.
The atmosphere, the food and the staff are all of outstanding quality.
I love how British everything felt there and I really enjoyed the Sunday film session that they have.
Now a days it is easy to find a good restaurant in London but this was something on a completely different level.
It is a true little gem in London that deserves recognition.
If you are ever in London I recommend that you visit south of the river and go for a bite to eat or drink at The Garrison - you won't be disappointed.
